Summer BreakSpot is Florida's summer meal program for children and teens 18 and younger. The program is administered by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS).
September 2026 season update
The official Summer BreakSpot website says the 2026 season has ended and the program will return in 2027. Do not travel to a summer listing expecting a meal without checking its operating dates.
When the program is in season
Use the official site map to find a location and designated meal time. Summer BreakSpot describes its public meal service as free, without an application or registration.
Before leaving, check the site's specific date and meal window. Ask about the pickup entrance, whether meals must be eaten there, and any accessibility needs. A school address can have different rules during the school year.
Food during the school year
Ask your child's school how to access school meals. For household food needs, find a pantry or meal program and confirm its intake process. If a summer site appears in search, its old listing alone does not establish current service.
What about SUN Bucks?
SUN Bucks is a separate grocery benefit administered by participating states, Tribes, and territories. Check the USDA participation map for your location. A summer meal listing does not mean your household has been approved for that benefit.

Call 2-1-1 and ask for food help in your ZIP code. Mention transport limits and whether you need groceries or a prepared meal so the referral can fit your situation.
