Food help for Florida seniors

Food help for Florida older adults: Elder Helpline, home-delivered meals, CSFP food packages, SNAP, and the current Fresh Access Bucks pause.

For an older adult who needs food help in Florida, start with the Elder Helpline: 800-963-5337. Ask for the local Aging and Disability Resource Center and describe whether you need groceries, group meals, or delivery.

Meals at home or in the community

Florida's aging-services network connects older adults to group dining and home-delivered meal programs. Local availability and eligibility vary. Ask about enrollment, delivery areas, and any waitlist. If you have a Medicaid long-term care plan, ask your case manager whether approved meal services are available through it.

Monthly food packages through CSFP

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program serves eligible adults age 60 or older in participating counties. Florida's rules consider county residence and income or participation in qualifying benefits. Use the FDACS county contact list to find the distribution agency and ask about enrollment before visiting.

SNAP for groceries

Use MyACCESS to apply or read our Florida SNAP guide for assistance options. Ask DCF which household expenses and deductions apply; an income figure alone does not determine eligibility.

Fresh Access Bucks is paused

As checked September 5, 2026, the program operator, Feeding Florida, says Fresh Access Bucks paused at all participating outlets beginning August 17, 2026 because of a funding gap. Do not budget for a produce match unless the operator announces that it has resumed. Feeding Florida is a separate organization from this site.

If you need food this week

Look for a pantry or meal program. Ask whether someone can collect food on your behalf, what documents are required, and whether accessible pickup is available. A directory listing does not guarantee delivery or immediate enrollment.
